Inside The Cave

The Pogo Bugs deposited Pearl’s bits into the computer that was called The Cave.  The computer processed the bits and Pearl was put back together inside the computer’s program.  When she was aware of herself she felt she was lying on a hard, cold,  slippery floor. She could hear the whirling of the mainframe computer in her ears.  It had kinda of a whine to it, and it made her feel kinda sick.  She heard others running around but she was not in a position to see them from where she was.

She sat up and realized the floor that she had been lying on was made out of neck ties.  Around the edge of the platform she read.

“A free people forgetting that it has a soul to be cared for devotes all of it’s energies to it’s material advancement.”  The Ties That Bind.

Pearl started feeling chills go up her spine and under her breath she kept saying”Help me to stay AWAKE.”

this is lovely. the tie flooring reminds me of those wonderful parquet floors but with so much more colour – perhaps more like the Victorian decorative tiled floors. Oh and the quote is fabulous!

    Good book, too. 🙂
I like the little feet sticking out! 😉

  3. Interesting that Pearl and Vivian both have caves in their journeys. I know there will be caves in Kalili’s journey, that is where she is from.

I am curious to hear what will happen next.

The quote is from Morals and Dogma by Albert Pike. It is an interesting book, and full of a lot of Machiavellian type wisdom. I haven’t read it all, but some of it.

I think of the cave as under the ground…like a seed being planted and then through a process a rebirth

Thank you for all your comments.
