Travels as Zentara Shadowsoul
http://zentara.wordpress.com/
I’m an explorer from England, playing with various techniques and media, often using my own photographs as inspiration. Creative writing also plays a part within my work: I obtained a Creative Writing Certificate at the University of Sheffield back in 2000.

Playing and intuition contribute a lot to my creative output. Originally my art consisted mainly of oil paintings and drawings. From them I progressed to watercolour and about 6 years ago began my journey toward collage and altered art. Immediately I took my first steps along that path, I knew that mixed media was my forte. Today, I feel far happier messing around with ephemera, acrylics, dry media and fabric than with anything else.

At the moment my artworks consist mainly of collage, journals, altered books and sketchbooks, with an emphasis on texture and urban settings. I also enjoy partaking in various projects, like the ArtHouseCo-op sketchbook and this Travelling Artists’ Guild. I find such projects motivating and learn much from participating in them.

I am looking forward to this learning journey, even if I am a little intimidated at times by the creations of the fabulous artists accompanying me. However, as my sister told me, we all have different styles, some that I may admire more than my own. But that my own work is just as valid and as exciting and as fabulous as that of the other artists. Sometimes, I do LOVE my sister, lol!!!

About artrites

Some people would see only a middle aged woman, albeit fairly well preserved, but in reality, I'm an English writer and artist (order exchangeable) living in Germany. I'm a blended learning specialist, graphic designer, and train adult education teachers, when I can find the work. There is far, far more to me that even that, of course, but discovering that is the journey you can undertake by reading this blog.
